Due to an increase in the demand for indigo, the textile and confection company, Coltejer, is carrying out a project which will allow it to increase the production of this material.
The reason for this increase in the demand for indigo is due to the fact that confection companies wish to take advantage of the tariff advantages granted by Atpdea.
Coltejer will invest US $8 million dollars in the first stage of the project and expects to increase the production of indigo to one million six hundred thousand meters a month. The total amount of the project will come to US$33 million dollars.
In the first semester of 2003 the company billed $163,000 billion pesos and is expecting to export more than US$40 million dollars in products.
